Mekong Futures: Changes in Sediment/Nutrient Flux and Their Consequences

mekong-delta
The 10th of December at U.C. Berkley Andrea Castelletti, Simone Bizzi and Rafel Schmitt will partecipate to workshop (WS), Mekong Futures: Changes in Sediment/Nutrient Flux and Their Consequences . The workshop is organized by Prof. Matt Kondolf, who invited researches  working on the Mekong delta over the last years.  This WS focus is on how the flux of sediment and nutrients through the river system to the Delta will be affected by planned dams and other changes, and how changes in these fluxes could affect rates of coastal erosion, changes in elevation of the delta surface, and long-term sustainability of the landform.  The WS aims at considering drivers at multiple scales, ranging from large-scale global sea level rise and changes in frequency of tropical cyclones over the basin, to changes in the regional sediment budget from new dams, down to local controls over groundwater pumping and channelization.

Interactive session at DMDU 2016

NRMGroup co-organized with CEE Cornell and TuDelft a session on Bridging the False Divide: Are We Ignoring the Role of Adaptive Operations for Improving the Efficiency, Resilience and Robustness of Planned Infrastructure? at the DMDU 2016 workshop hosted  by the Waorld Bank in Washington DC on November 16 and 17, 2016. DMDU is organized annually by the Society for Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty
